Nisemonogatari ep 5 Karen Bee part 5

It’s hard to explain what makes the Bakemonogatari franchise brilliant.  It is known for its strong dialogue and interesting characters. It is an original series that is hard to compare to other anime.  It remains to this day my favorite series of all time.  Today I will try to explain what makes this franchise so great.

As much as I enjoyed the Haruhi Suzumiya series I had one major contention with it, the supporting characters.  While Kyon and Haruhi are brilliant, the rest of the characters in the series are one-dimensional; Yuki is shy, Mikuru is cute and Itsuki is just there.  This caused the series to have to rely heavily on Haruhi and Kyon, and I found their characters to be drastically overused.  The Bakemonogatari franchise, unlike Haruhi Suzumiya doesn’t suffer from this problem and it doesn’t rely only on Araragi and Senjogahara’s characters.  This franchise is full of lively characters that never cease to keep the watcher on their toes.  Araragi is in every episode, yet he does not at all feel overused, while the other characters are evenly distributed throughout episodes.

(He is one creepy Mother-F*cker)

Episode 5 deals with Deishu Kaiki and what his real intensions are.  He is a conman who only thinks about one thing, money.  He spends his time tricking middle school students out of their money by selling information.  He was the one who caused the snake that cursed Nadeko in the first series and he also cursed Karen with the bee.  He is one evil man and I can’t wait to see what else he brings to the series.

The episode consisted mostly of a flashback to Karen and Deishu meeting.  Not much happened in the episode but it was still enjoyable.  The animation was amazing, and the dialogue was as strong as ever, I can’t wait until next week’s episode.

Thank you for reading, sorry it was so short

Sincerely yours Xana
